these works position objects as sites where feminist critique, scientific discourse, and speculative futures intersect. They do not resolve the conditions they address, but instead render them visible and contestable, opening a space in which dominant narratives of safety, neutrality, and technological progress can be re-examined through embodied, affective, and political lense
AIFUTURES/ SmartCityWALKS uses cities as sites to contest the narrowing of futures by dominant technological and political actors. Instead of treating urban AI as a fixed trajectory, the work opens space for situated alternatives generated with local stakeholders.
Through guided walks and augmented reality overlays, participants move through the city while encountering plausible future conditions layered onto the present..
Developed across cities including Athens, Porto, Paris, Antwerp, Kyushu, and Jakarta, AI/WALKS looks at walking as research as curatorial device and method for redistributing authorship over urban futures.

These artefacts were used to provoke discussions amongst computer scientists and algorithm/AI systems developers about the ethics and adverse effects of the technology they (help) make.
Design Fiction is another way to make these possible/plausible (not) preferable futures tangible.
James Bridle 'Under the Shadow of the Drone' is one of the works I saw when working on privacy and autonomous drones. It helped me to show people what arts and speculative design can do that most academic publications do not.
To provoke, to question, to imagine, to make you stop and think and feel and ....scream.
I use his and other works in my presentations and lecturs on how to decide about what present and futures societies we want to live in.
